Thursday 11th August
My phone again, had a little reminder for me this morning: five years ago, on this day, we went to Busch Gardens in Tampa.
You always made for SheiKra first, a floorless, diving rollercoaster. I remember Dad saying that the first time you went on it, you had your eyes closed as it hovered on the precipice, before hurtling earthwards at amazing speed. After that you said your eyes were always open, and that this was your most favourite ride ever.
Another ride you enjoyed was the fast-moving Cheetah Hunt, the longest rollercoaster in the park.
We miss sharing the fun with you.
We miss watching your ‘adrenaline rush’ as you sought out new white-knuckle experiences.
We miss your laughter and smiles.
We miss holidays with you.
We miss the theme parks.
We miss you.
And……….
It’s Thursday.
74 weeks.
518 days.
Without you.
Thinking of you every day.
Love you so very much.
Sweetheart Angel son.

Wonderful photos; beautiful memories. I can picture the eyes-closed ascent…then, open them wide – and wait for the drop!

Thank you.
Once Frank knew he was safe, he became fearless, and then delighted in the pure fun of it all.

I can imagine – and it appears that he didn’t suffer from ride-sickness, either! Those rides can be a ton of fun, especially if you’re not queasy afterwards…

No, he just loved the whole ride experience ~ from the anticipation, through the breathtaking journey, to the completion with a massive grin.

Thank you.
I see no sense in being terrified either; just not for me 😱

Well, I have very vivid memories of Busch Gardens in Tampa. I have been to other locations, but Tampa brings back the best memories. I am glad you had that time together.
I think I might have to write about my memories.

Our first visit to Busch Gardens with the boys, was in 1996, and we continued almost every year since, including a number of Christmas holiday trips there too. So much fun. (Incidentally, my first ever time to Busch Gardens was with my father, in 1979 ~ a lifetime ago).

What a coincidence! I first went in 1979 as well.

Wow. Small world 😀
I was in Florida for most of March and April of that year. I remember St. Patrick’s Day at Cypress Gardens too.

Oh my goodness.. I can’t imagine the jolt those reminders must still give you. I can barely handle the ones on Facebook that show photos of my family prior to my divorce. Sending you love and prayers.

Yes, many feelings go through my head.
Sadness is probably there at the forefront, but I have to remember all the good times we had together, and the fun, laughter and love we shared.
I am just so glad I did take so many photographs.
Thank you for your kind wishes and prayers.
Hugs to you.
