My father Hank. Today would have been his birthday. Pancreatic cancer took him in 2009

Funny how clearly we remember our dads, isn’t it? I lost mine in 2000 and his birthday was February 8. Still miss him. How are you doing lately?

Yes, I have so many wonderful memories of my father and the travels and adventures we had.
(Sorry for the loss of your father: I’m sure he was very special to you).
I’m doing OK thank you, but awaiting a small hospital procedure in a couple of week’s time ~ a check on something my last scan highlighted.

I hope so too… I wonder why money is spent on space travel because I really don’t think there will be life on the moon or Mars.

It’s probably human nature to explore, to look for resources beyond our world, and the space industry does generate huge numbers of jobs along with the associated support system.

Well that’s true and they did something to do with space today… I’m not sure what. Here in the Detroit area where I live, it is all about the self-driving cars. See, in my opinion I find that a waste of time and money, which could be better put to use on finding a cure for diseases like cancer.

I think you’re so right about the self-driving cars…. it would be so much better putting that money into medical research.
And the space thing: I thought was quite exciting; with Elon Musk, ever the showman, sending his Tesla roadster into space, in the most powerful operational rocket in the world. 🔭🚀🔭

Elon Musk is bound and determined to make progress in space… they have halted all the space programs here in the US, so he aims to do something about that… a red automobile I think they said it was. I was busy at work today and yesterday and just have heard news stories but not gotten a chance to read up on the current news.
The self-driving cars don’t seem logical to me and many people don’t want to ride in them either.

I still haven’t seen the video of it, but they were playing David Bowie’s Space Oddity on the news all day… I think that is what initially got my attention. 🙂
