Friday 2nd October
.
Stayed indoors
For most of the day
Listening to the gales
Blowing away
.
The rain did cease
So donning hats and coats
Wild and woolly outdoors
Watching bobbing boats
.
Waves crashing over
The granite sea wall
A big swell building
An incoming squall
.
Thinking of you
Beloved Angel son

Thank you very much indeed.
We are lucky to live where we do, and to be able to watch the ever-changing ocean.

Are the nearby buildings damaged by waves like that?

Hi…. The buildings have probably been along the Wharf and Lambeth Walk for hundreds of years, in one form or another. And yes, once in a while a stone or small rock is picked up by a wave, and smashes a window, but the structures are pretty solid and will withstand a good old battering!!
Quite a few have been flooded over the years, and sandbags are always kept close, just in case.
Great views to be had…

Thank you Derrick.
The waves, (seen from the comfort of our home), were just as impressive today, but thankfully no rain.
Hope you and yours are well.
