Thursday 23rd October
The bloom fades fast
The glow departs
As humdrum tasks
Reclaim our hearts
No longer basking
In the sun's bright ray
Just shopping lists
To face the day
Suitcases unpacked
Clothes on the floor
Washing machine
Starts to roar
The heat subsides
A cooler breeze
Grey skies return
Through rustling trees
No cocktails sweet
No ocean feast
Back to normal
For a while, at least
Love you so much
Precious sons
Beloved Mum
