A winding maze 
A jumble of emotions 
In a swirling haze

Other times lighter 
Filled with hope, carefree 

Running wild 
Thoughts can't be confined 
Veering off on their own 
Tangential and unlined 

In need of calm 
Deep breaths to release 
Seeking the sanctuary 
Where inner storms cease
