Friday 23rd October 

Storm Austen hit last night
The tempest struck with all its might
Last evening's fury, a fearsome sight 
The wind's fierce grip, a chilling fright 
Holding onto the roof so tight
Five in the morning before it got light
Quite scary, but we won this fight
It's all intact, so that's all right
And it didn't fly off like a kite
99 mph at its height

A heavy darkness 
Starts to creep

An orchestra 
Of nature's groan 

Then fury breaks 
A sudden might 
The heavens tear

The rain descends 
A drumming wall 
Against the earth 
It starts to fall
