Breaking waves

Standard
Tuesday 4th April

The sea's breaking waves
A mighty roar
Remind me of the times
We spent on the shore
Laughing and playing
So carefree
Those moments with you
Mean the world to me

Love you so much
Treasured sons
Beloved Mum

Porthmeor Beach
Breaking waves
Lifeguards on duty
Self drive boats in the harbour

So many memories

Standard
Monday 3rd April

So many memories
Held so dear
Reminds me of the love
That's always near
And though you're gone
You're still a part
Of my life and soul
Forever in my heart

Love you so much

Across the rooftops to the sea
The harbour
A sheltered corner of the harbour beach

Grief’s journey changes

Standard
Sunday 2nd April

Grief's journey changes
As it often will
Let it ebb and flow
And have its fill
For in the end
It's a sign we cared
That love, even in loss
Can never be impaired

Love you so much
Treasured sons
Beloved Mum

St Ives this morning
The holidaymakers have arrived
Ohhhh, it’s freezing! 12°C air temperature ❄️
But, we’re on holiday!
A busy harbour

Frank

Standard
Saturday 1st April

The first of April
Time for awareness
Lumps, bumps and swellings
Do not feel helpless

Testicular cancer
Need to check your balls
Don’t be embarrassed
Heed the doctor’s calls

Teens to the thirties
Are mostly affected
Do yourself a favour
Shouldn’t be neglected

Don’t leave it too late
For it can be cured
If it’s caught early
You can rest assured

A taboo subject
Whispered quietly
Can’t happen to me
Can fill with anxiety

Grab life by the goolies
But if there’s a pain
Have your tackle checked out
Your health to maintain

Love you sweetheart
Treasured Angel son
Now forever young

(I wrote this five years ago, to spread awareness of Testicular Cancer, after we lost Frank in 2015)
We left you some M&Ms today. 💖

Your absence

Standard
Friday 31st March

Your absence is felt
Every single day
In each moment
Every single way
But there's some comfort
Knowing you're free
Watching over us
With wings, silvery

Love you so much
Treasured sons
Beloved Mum

Little things

Standard
Thursday 30th March

All those little things
That remind me of you
Bringing back memories
So sweet and true
The wind as it whispers
With a gentle touch
Echoes of your voice
That I miss so much

Love you so much
Precious sons
Beloved Mum

My sweet one
Fly above the clouds
Enjoy, have fun
And know that I love you
More than words can say
Holding you in my heart
Every single day

I know you’re not gone

Standard
Tuesday 28th March

I know you're not gone
Just out of sight
Your spirit lives on
In the stars at night
Though my heart aches
With each passing day
There's comfort in knowing
You're just a thought away

Love you so much
Precious sons
Beloved Mum

Cloudy, grey, damp and drizzly today

Family

Standard
Monday 27th March

Smiling and carrying
On with grace
Even when tears
Stream down my face
For though the pain
May never fade
Finding strength
In the family we made

Love you so much

Sunny St Ives this morning

Where you wander

Standard
Sunday 26th March

Pain and heartache
Still remain
A burden I can't
Really explain
Locked away
Hidden from view
Surfacing with
A memory of you

The sunshine warms
My face and soul
Bringing happiness
Making me whole
Yet deep inside
I still wonder
What you're doing
Where you wander

Love you so much
Treasured sons
Beloved Mum
