On the little tourist train

Igreja de Santo António 
Museum Municipal Dr. José Formosinho. Filled with azulejo tiles, ancient artifacts, paintings and displays connected to local history

First sight of the interior of the Chapel takes your breath away
The church interior is almost entirely covered in intricately carved gold-plated woodwork.
Everywhere is shimmering gold
The altar has a statue of St Anthony holding The Child Jesus

A trek to Pego do Inferno
A beautiful swimming lake
Through tunnels of bamboo
And dry river bed sun baked
Yet much had evaporated
But a scenic walk to take
Then onto the beach for a dip
From searing heat, a welcome break

Leading to Pego do Inferno (literal translation ~ caught from hell)
The water level has dropped by about eight feet
Luke has a go at paddling
The last time Luke was here (in May), the water covered where I was standing, and there was a waterfall making it a spectacular place to visit
So very hot

So we went to the beach in Tavira
Luke and Talita have a swim
