The Alien Blob

Standard
Tuesday 2nd May

The Alien Blob
The mole on my toe
Cancerous tumour
It just had to go

But those cancer cells
Decided to spread
Infected lymph nodes
At the top of my leg

So more surgery
And hospital stays
A clinical trial
Lots of pills for days

Yet, ten years later
And life is a breeze
No evidence of
That evil disease

Being vigilant
Is the key for me
That melanoma
Can be so sneaky

Protect your body
Look after your skin
Slap on the sunscreen
Don't let cancer win

.

Love you so much
Treasured sons
Beloved Mum

A very, very early morning check-in at Faro airport
Our plane awaits
The sun just rising
Up, up and away over Faro
The Scillies
Land’s End
Hayle estuary and St Ives Bay
The A30
At least we have a sunny drive back home
