Without a single care

Standard
Wednesday 10th May

The sun shines bright and warm
Casting its golden rays
Upon the leaves and branches
Creating a tranquil haze

Many birds sing sweetly
Melodies fill the air
Flitting from tree to tree
Without a single care

Love you so much
Treasured sons
Beloved Mum

A much, much better day than yesterday. No more heavy downpours flooding the roads.

Springtime’s arrival

Standard
Tuesday 9th May

Springtime's arrival
Brings new life
Nature awakens
From winter strife
Wet grass glistens
With morning dew
Buds burst open
With vibrant hue

Leaves unfurl
Catching sun's rays
Swaying in
The misty haze
Rain feeds the soil
Giving life to all
Clouds bring portent
Of a gentle squall

Love you so much
Treasured sons
Beloved Mum

Come what may
Through the night
And into day
A reminder that
Even with rain
Beauty in life
Hope does remain

St Ives this morning… A little drizzle
Along the front, this afternoon, and it’s pouring with rain!

A peaceful afternoon

Standard
Saturday 6th May

A peaceful afternoon in the garden
Where the breeze gently blows
The flowers sway in harmony
With a rhythm that nature knows

I sit, watching in wonder
At the beauty that surrounds
Feeling the hush and calmness
In the garden that abounds

Here, amidst the blossoms
I find a sense of ease
Where I can breathe and rest
And let my worries cease

Love you so much

St Ives this morning, with crowds gathering on the beach (low tide) to watch the Coronation on a big screen

So here we stand

Standard
Friday 5th May

So here we stand
In the midst of it all
Among the joys and sorrows
The rise and fall
So much to be thankful
So much to give
So little time
Still we strive to live

Love you so much
Beloved sons

The Alien Blob

Standard
Tuesday 2nd May

The Alien Blob
The mole on my toe
Cancerous tumour
It just had to go

But those cancer cells
Decided to spread
Infected lymph nodes
At the top of my leg

So more surgery
And hospital stays
A clinical trial
Lots of pills for days

Yet, ten years later
And life is a breeze
No evidence of
That evil disease

Being vigilant
Is the key for me
That melanoma
Can be so sneaky

Protect your body
Look after your skin
Slap on the sunscreen
Don't let cancer win

.

Love you so much

A very, very early morning check-in at Faro airport
Our plane awaits
The sun just rising
Up, up and away over Faro
The Scillies
Land’s End
Hayle estuary and St Ives Bay
The A30
At least we have a sunny drive back home
