Being quite brave

Standard
Thursday 20th November

Being quite brave
Not hiding from fights
Taking some risks
Reaching new heights

Proud of the battles
That have been faced
Feeling fine inside
No moment chased

So standing tall
Letting confidence ignite
Walking in strength
Towards inner light

Love you so much
Beloved sons
Treasured Mum

Strength

Standard
Wednesday 19th November

The strength to face
Whatever life may bring
And hope that lets
A heart forever sing

For stars that twinkle
In the darkest night
Those guiding beacons
Shining ever bright

For simple comfort
Easily obtained
A grateful heart
Forever unrestrained

Love you so much
Precious sons
Treasured Mum

Comfort

Standard
Tuesday 18th November

Comfort
As soft as a blanket
Wrapped around
Like a warm embrace

A shelter
From the wildest tempest
In quiet corners
Finding a calm place

Love you so much
Precious sons
Beloved Mum

Leaves have fallen

Standard
Monday 17th November

Leaves have fallen
Branches stripped bare
Yet the tree stands tall
Roots strong with care

Through storms and seasons
It's held its ground
A testament of life
Resilience profound

Love you so much
Precious sons
Beloved Mum

Ideas scatter

Standard
Sunday 16th November

Ideas scatter
Like leaves in a breeze
Some dance in chaos
Some go where they please
Yet in this whirlwind
The truth is found
Beneath the clatter
The heart is unbound

Love you so much
Precious sons
Treasured Mum

Life was ordinary

Standard
Saturday 15th November

Life was ordinary
A gentle flow
Sunlit days
A peaceful glow

Waking hours
A happy place
Familiar smiles
On every face

Until it wasn't
The quiet broke
A sudden storm
A heavy cloak

Grey skies dawned
Where blue had been
A world transformed
A different scene

Love you so much
Precious sons
Beloved Mum

In the quiet

Standard
Thursday 13th November

In the quiet
Of morning light
A cup of tea
Warm and bright
The steam curls up
A gentle dance
In that moment
A calming trance
A leaf that twirls
Upon the breeze
Rustling whispers
Through the trees
Each tiny moment
Like a song
Holds memories
Where we belong

Love you so much
Precious sons
Beloved Mum

Standing in the wind and rain

Standard
Tuesday 11th November

Standing in the wind and rain
Remembering an ancestor of mine
The cemetery situated above the sea
Waves crashing along the coastline

A cousin three times removed
A brave soldier of the Great War
Family to me across a century
His resting place now cared for

The tireless work of a local historian
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission
With the restoration of his stone
His service has full recognition

His story could have faded with time
But now this soldier has his voice again
His history has been brought back to life
So generations will speak of him then

Remembered with the dignity
That every soldier deserved
Sapper William Hart of St Ives
His memory forever preserved

Love you so much
Precious sons
Beloved Mum
