Elation

Standard
Thursday 3rd June

Sometimes all I should do
Shake off those thoughts
Open my eyes fully
Find a wonder of sorts

Spring flower blossom
The birdsong so sweet
Unfurling green leaves
The world at my feet

With eyes wide open
An appreciation
Of all that's around
Should inspire elation

Love you poppet
Darling Angel son

On the beach

Standard
Wednesday 2nd June

They're all on the beach
Although it's cloudy
Lots of surfers out
Standing up proudly

The streets are packed too
In their 'happy place'
The holidaymakers
Smiles upon their face

Little too crowded
For the likes of me
Social distancing?
Not that I can see!

Thinking of you sweetie
My darling Angel son
xxxxx
A few good waves
Is there any more room?
Hang ten
Coming through
Waiting for the ‘big one’
Fun and games
Enjoying the waves
In the harbour

So many

Standard
Tuesday 1st June

So many tourists
Jamming up the roads
Making their way to
Holiday abodes
Looking for parking
Trailing heavy loads
Bikes and top boxes
Short temper explodes
All hot and bothered
Politeness erodes

Love you sweetheart
Beloved Angel son

St Ives looking pretty from Park Avenue
Busy in Kitty’s Corner before 10am this morning

So busy, busy, busy

Standard
Monday 31st May

So busy, busy, busy
All those bodies on the beach
Packed so close together
Peace and quiet, out of reach

Families queuing at the shop
Buying ice creams for each
But watch out for those seagulls
Swooping to steal, they screech

You did like a lollipop
My precious Angel son
Moving along the sand
To the waves you'd run

xxxxx
So many people
Much quieter at West Porthmeor
Low tide, so a long way to walk to the sea

Bath

Standard
Saturday 29th May

Today was all about food
Making for such a good mood
Simply a perfect day
To Bath on a Saturday

Wandering around and shopping
Every now and again stopping
A superb lunchtime tea
Beneath a huge plane tree

Bathampton Mill upon Avon
Most of the tables were taken
But we needn't have worried
There's no need to be hurried

Ice cold beer in the sun
Watching the water run
Over the weir down stream
Spiralling eddies gleam

All the while thinking of you
And everything you'd do
My dear sweet Angel son
Now you're forever young

Still quite warm

And the weir
A steady flow of water
Ice cold beer
