Pego do Inferno

Pego do Inferno

Sunday 6th August

A trek to Pego do Inferno
A beautiful swimming lake
Through tunnels of bamboo
And dry river bed sun baked
Yet much had evaporated
But a scenic walk to take
Then onto the beach for a dip
From searing heat, a welcome break

Bamboo lined, dried river bed
Leading to Pego do Inferno (literal translation ~ caught from hell)
The water level has dropped by about eight feet
Luke has a go at paddling
The last time Luke was here (in May), the water covered where I was standing, and there was a waterfall making it a spectacular place to visit
So very hot
Gnarly tree roots
So we went to the beach in Tavira
Luke and Talita have a swim
A pretty spot
Cooling off
Salt marshes, where flamingoes gather (we’ll look for them later!)
