It's come round again
For my annual scan
Breath in, staying calm
Doing the best I can
Results in next month
Playing the waiting game
Scanxiety's quite high
Staying upbeat's the aim
Seven years, on trial
For melanoma
Seems I've taken on
A different persona
BP's a bit high
Understandable
Those internal fears
Quite irrational
Vigilance and care
When out in the sun
For it could come back
Bite you on the bum
It's a sneaky thing
This malignancy
Try to live life with
Capability
Leaving this morning
Seven forty five
Home at five pm
A long day, and drive
Love you both
Treasured sons
