A palette of golden brown 
Shivering leaves 
In a gentle dance, tumble down 
Wet grass underfoot 
Where footsteps gently tread 
Fast scudding clouds 
In the sky overhead 
Late afternoon gloom 
As daylight starts to fade 
A chill in the air 
As evening is softly laid 
Nature's canvas 
Painted in hues quite rare 
In the essence of autumn 
Finding beauty to spare
