Feels like summer

Standard

Saturday 12th September

.

Feels like summer

With clear blue skies

Children playing

The seagull cries

Queues for ice-cream

Fish with french fries

The self drive boats

Will not capsize

Shops selling gifts

To tantalise

The souvenirs

They advertise

Buckets and spades

All beach supplies

Memories made

Oh how time flies

.

Thinking of you

My darling Angel son

This afternoon, St. Ives harbour

High tide this morning

Warm and sunny on Porthmeor Beach

Much quieter now

Still many in the sea, having fun

Lifeguards keeping a watchful eye on the swimmers

The harbour was busy this afternoon

A gorgeous day

Nightmare

Standard

Friday 11th September

.

Losing sense of time

Spinning on a dime

What is it, that’s mine?

Am I out of line?

A maelstrom of grime

Obstacles to climb

Tangled, knotted twine

Contorting the spine

Wet, stinking slime

Wreaking heinous crime

Drowning in dense brine

Letting out a whine

A nightmare sublime

Perfect pantomime

.

Thinking of you sweetie

Beloved Angel son

The essence of your loss

Tuesday 8th September

The essence of your loss

Is all around, everywhere

Nothing is as it was

But you left memories to share

Missing you poppet

Porthmeor Beach this afternoon

Such a warm September day

The lifeguards are still on duty

Low tide in the harbour

Kitty’s Corner

Loved you

Standard

Monday 7th September

.

Loved you

Whilst you were here

Still love you

Though you’re far from near

In my heart

Beating with cheer

Here forever

That’s perfectly clear

So much quieter since the children have returned to school

Certainly not as busy

Much more room between groups of people

The harbour had a few walkers this afternoon

The St Ives gigs

The self drive boats haven’t been used too much this year

A wider view

Many on the slipway and outside the Sloop pub (circa 1312) enjoying the sunshine

Just because

Standard

Sunday 6th September

.

Just because I can stand up straight

Doesn’t mean I’m not weighed down

Just because I can see for miles

Doesn’t mean my eyes don’t brim with tears

Just because I can smile and laugh

Doesn’t mean I’m not filled with grief

.

Love you forever

Looking down on the town this morning

Take me back

Standard

Friday 4th September

.

Take me back

To happy days

Of blue skies

And turquoise bays

.

Of family times

Days out with fun

On the beach

Til the day is done

.

Sun overhead

Warming our skin

Smiles and laughter

Radiate from within

.

A carefree life

No worries at all

Where dolphins swim

And seagulls call

.

Seaside vibes

Buckets and spades

Children’s delight

Silly escapades

.

It’s only because

I can recall

Childhood memories

Enjoying it all

.

So fortunate

To travel afar

Experiences

A diverse memoir

.

Looking back

Life was good

Simple times

That’s understood

.

And we did share

So much with you

Darling Angel son

Love you, we do

.
