Heya, I am wondering what kind of succulent that is that is outgrowing its pot. Looking at it reminded me of a local agave plant turned celebrity named Monty. Monty has been in bloom the last few weeks and is really quite a sight – the bloom stalk shot up about 12 feet over the plant and the bloom has been rather impressive to watch…apparently these agave plants only bloom once a decade or so.

Hi…. I think it’s an Agave Americana, but unfortunately it has never flowered for us.
I believe we bought it from the Eden Project, the year it opened in Cornwall, UK…… nineteen years ago!!!!
Yes, I have seen some of them with spectacular flower stalks…. Maybe ours is once every two decades….. There’s still time.
