Happy birthday to my mum

Standard

Monday 5th August

Happy birthday to my mum

Eighty seven years old today

A trip to Paradise Park

Parrots, penguins, birds of prey

Brought along by the care home

A treat to watch the flying display

Fresh air and lots of sunshine

Smiling on your special day

.

Frank sends birthday wishes too

Darling Angel son

Penguins on parade, waiting to be fed

Happy birthday Mum

Beautiful great green macaws

Variegated leaves of a canna

Close enough to touch

So many memories

Standard

Saturday 3rd August

.

So many memories

Both sweet and sad

Joyous and painful

Wonderful and bad

.

Bringing so much love

That continues to grow

In those left behind

Much more than you know

.

Precious Angel son

Flying high above

Blowing kisses to you

Filled with lots of love

.

A grey and muggy afternoon

Not much swell for the surf school

And maybe the pain will soften

Standard

Friday 2nd August

.

I’ll continue to celebrate your life
Trying hard to recall the many good times
The fun, the adventures and the pantomimes
You’ll never be forgotten
And maybe the pain will soften

.
My darling Angel son
Loved you then
Love you still
Always have
Always will

Perfect day for surf lessons

So very busy, again

The harbour at low tide

Kayaks lined up to rent

Virtual colonoscopy

Standard

Thursday 1st August

.

A very early start

To Exeter hospital

Up before the dawn

Anxious? Just a little

.

Virtual colonoscopy

Along with a CT scan

Quite uncomfortable

Be as quick as you can!

.

Starving since Tuesday

No solid food on Wednesday

A noisy, rumbling tum

Keep hunger pangs at bay

.

Glad when it’s all over

The anxiousness declines

Heartbeat slowing down

Back to normal times

.

Two weeks to wait

Scanxiety strikes again

Radiographer’s report

But I’m not one to complain

.

A clinical drugs trial

I’m looked after so well

Malignant melanoma

The fears I try to dispel

.

Doing something positive

Seems a good idea to me

Looking after my body

Cancer can do one, you see

.

Thinking of you sweetie

Missing you every day

Wishing you were here

With angels you play

.

Driving to Exeter, just after 6:00am

A mellow, warm sky

It’s everyday

Standard

Wednesday 31st July

.

It’s everyday for me

The missing

The reality

The emptiness

.

Love you to the moon and back

Beyond the stars

Way past Mercury and Mars

Beloved Angel son

.

Sunshine brings out the beach goers

Much better than yesterday

Many surfers in the waves

Lifeguards keeping a check on those in the sea

A busy harbour slipway

So rainy and grey

Standard

Tuesday 30th July

.

So rainy and grey

Like an autumn day

The wild wind blowing

A few seagoing

So traipsing the streets

Looking for some eats

Holidaymakers

Ice cream partakers

A wet staycation

Means much vexation

But you’re in St. Ives

So just love your lives

.

Remembering you

Missing you

Loving you

My darling Angel son

Only a few on windswept Porthmeor Beach

A messy swell

Where have all the holidaymakers gone?

Blustery conditions

Even though you’ve gone

Standard

Sunday 28th July

.

Even though you’ve gone

Your smile still remains

In so many photographs

With the love that contains

.

Missing you my sweetheart

Darling Angel son

Flying high above the clouds

Now forever young

.

Finding a way through the maze to the sea

Packed again

Warm and bright

The clouds are gathering

Swimmers, kayaks, boats and sunbathers
