Friday 17th May
.
I’ll meet you when I dream
I’ll see you when I sleep
I’ll talk to you in my head
Those precious memories to keep
.
I’ll hug you in my fantasy
I’ll cradle you in my heart
You’ll always be in my thoughts
Then I’ll know we’re not apart

I can’t really pen poetry but respond to it when I read it. Crossing Brooklyn Ferry by Whitman or Charge of the Light Brigade which always makes me cry, so there is something to it. You write beautifully and it’s such a portal to release what one feels.

I too enjoy reading Charge of the Light Brigade.

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honour the charge they made!
Honour the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred!

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
โForward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns!โ he said.
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred
An epic poem.

I so love this. You have no idea. Peggy Noonan, a journalist, wrote a piece about September 11th, and how the firemen all went in but never came out, using that refrain. It’s so moving even borrowed. Thanks so much. ๐

She writes an OPED on Saturday for The Wall Street Journal. That essay is in a collection of 9/11 pieces called A Heart, A Cross and a Flag. They’re quite touching.
