A cooler Sunday

Standard

Sunday 12th April

A cooler Sunday

Thinking of you

Those Easter times

With lots to do

So much chocolate

You’d get through

All those eggs

You’d munch and chew

An upset tum

I think you knew

But never mind

We couldn’t stop you

.

Love you forever

Beloved Angel son

You’d never share your chocolate desserts 😊

And you’d finish the whole lot ❤️

Porthmeor Beach West

No one around

Such peace and quiet

And off we go again

Standard

Friday 10th April

.

And off we go again

For our loop around the town

To the end of our road

Porthmeor Hill to walk down

.

You came this way many times

Up and down, round and about

Across all the many beaches

Keeping you fit, there is no doubt

.

Thinking of you

Missing you

Remembering you

Love you forever

.

The start of our walk down Porthmeor Hill

Well of St. Ia, a fifth century saint, who arrived in St. Ives having crossed from the Irish Sea upon a leaf

The well provided water for the lower part of the town up until 1843

The cove and reef at a very low tide

The ‘Boilers’ are all that remain from the wreck of the SS Alba, which ran aground in 1938

Blue skies over the harbour

Five long years

Standard

Wednesday 8th April

.

It’s been five long years

Since that painful, sombre day

When your physical body

Your last resting place, lay

.

Missing you so much

Precious Angel son

No longer feel your touch

Now forever young

From five years ago

He Man’s sword went with you

A sunny morning

Very low tides at Porthmeor Beach

Deep blue seas

Wet ripples on the sand

The Island

Collected through the years

Standard

Monday 6th April

.

Going through paperwork

Bills, letters, statements

So many out of date

Long forgotten payments

.

It’s good to de-clutter

Clearing out old bits

Filling up a bin bag

Then I called it quits

.

Amongst all this sorting

Collected through the years

Postcards, photographs

Many smiles and tears

.

Thinking of you sweetie

About to bloom

New life flourishes

A delicate pink costume

Missing you poppet

As I always do

Sending much love

To heaven, to you

RFA Tidespring

Leaving the bay this morning

Seen from the upstairs window

Off to patrol the seas and refuel other craft

Pink blossom

Flowers beginning to show

Porthmeor Beach, West End

Looking towards the Island

So very bright

Standard

Saturday 4th April

.

So very bright

Clear blue skies

A bitter wind

Seagulls rise

Trying hard

To sit outside

Enjoy the air

No compromise

Should be warmer

Tomorrow’s highs

So much better

Weatherman cries

.

Love you sweetheart

Royal Fleet Auxiliary Tidespring

Anchored in the bay

After shadowing Russian warships in the Channel

Amid the topsy turvy chaos

Standard

Friday 3rd April

.

Amid the topsy turvy chaos

It is really hard to find

A peaceful, mellow moment

To calm the unsettled mind

.

And here I am, next to you

A sanctuary of silence

A place for quiet reflection

Keeping all in balance

.

Standing beneath the branches

Of a tree yet to sprout leaves

I listen to all the birdsong

A smile that my heart believes

.

Love you sweetheart
