Seagull

Standard

Monday 14th October

.

A seagull stole an ice cream

His mates came swooping down

Poor unsuspecting consumer

Forehead knotted with a frown

When will the tourists learn

To cover their food in our town?

The sky-rats are quite clever

These thieves are so reknown

.

Thinking of you my darling

You loved your ice cream treats

But never would you eat them

Wandering around the streets

.

Man’s Head and the Reef

Dark skies over the Island

An empty Porthmeor Beach

I’m watching you…

I’m coming for your ice cream

Who has the cone?

Heavy skies filled with rain

A partial rainbow brightens the afternoon

My Autumn Angel

Standard

Sunday 13th October

.

My Autumn Angel

Leaves turning to gold

A cooler wind blows

Hand in mine to hold

Acorns start falling

Squirrels scoot about

Evenings drawing in

Thoughts of you play out

Missing you always

That’ll never change

Love you forever

And that will not change

Little snippets of your life

Pop into my head everyday

Remembering all the fun times

You’re not really very far away

.

Love you sweetie

An old Cornish engine house, used for tin mining. Robinson’s Shaft

Inside the Red River Cafe this morning

Out for dinner…. Sister had squid

I had oysters

Gary had scallops, with macaroni cheese, bacon jam and truffle sauce

A long, low, threatening cloud seen from the restaurant looking over the harbour

My main course; steamed plaice with crab, prawn, asparagus and hollandaise sauce

The other two had sirloin steak, bearnaise sauce, wild mushrooms, truffle hash browns and watercress

Beach coladas 😘

Trevaskis Farm

Standard

Thursday 10th October

.

A day out in the drizzle and rain

Coffee and cake at Travaskis Farm

Some picked pumpkins or plums

We preferred to stay in the warm

.

Such a selection of yummy desserts

Chocolate and nut pavlova for me

Chocolate and cherry roulade for Gary

So what if we were a little bit piggy!

.

Once in a while have what you want

A little of what you fancy

Can’t do any harm at all

Just leaving us full and happy

.

You’d have liked these super desserts

My precious little Angel son

Your favourite a knickerbocker glory

Or a chocolate brownie, my loved one

.

Thinking of you

Missing you

Loving you

Gary’s chocolate and cherry roulade

My chocolate and hazelnut pavlova

Such a tempting display

So many calories

But so fabulous

Yummy scrummy desserts

Sunshine and heavy showers

Standard

Wednesday 9th October

.

Sunshine and heavy showers today

Towering clouds chasing across the sky

The rain coming down in stair rods

Puddles growing as cars splash by

.

Blowing kisses to you

My Angel up on high

Sending lots of love

As above us you fly

.

Blowing a gale on Porthmeor Beach

The rain is not far away

Billowy clouds over the harbour

Taking the rain away

All is calm for the moment

About twenty minutes after this, the sky turned so dark, and rain and hail battered the seafront

Still moments

Standard

Sunday 6th October

.

Still moments

Transport me back in time

A quietude

Remembering when life was sublime

Tranquility

Dreaming your small hand is in mine

A calmness

Reminiscing when we were in our prime

.

Always loved

Forever missed

Never forgotten

Darling Angel son

Walking down Porthmeor Hill to the beach

Lifeguards will be on duty until the end of October

A few swimmers and surfers today braving the waves

Low tide in the harbour

Still quite warm

Smeaton’s Pier

Looking towards Porthminster Beach

Whoops….An unexpected cream tea
