The loss of a loved one, especially the early loss, never heals. Like a chronic condition, it seems to get better from time to time until it comes flooding back. It never really goes away. It’s always there, just under the surface.

Grief is always there, just waiting for a moment to stop you in your tracks, catch you off balance and hit you for six. Expected or unexpected, it’s so unpredictable and unsettling.
