Three years

Standard

Monday 12th March

.

Three long and lonely years

We’ve shed so many tears

.

Missing you my darling

Your name I’m still calling

.

Since you breathed your last

Eyes forever downcast

.

When you left this world

Angel wings unfurled

.

Now I’ll miss the future

Left looking at your picture

.

The man you’d grow into

And what you’d get up to

.

Who you might become

Banging your own drum

.

In my heart I’m holding you tight

In my dreams you’re there at night

.

And there you will remain

Until we see you again

.

Love you to the moon and back

.

Three years gone

We still mourn

Our first born

Hearts are torn

Left forlorn

Every morn

Wings airborne

.

Love you so much

Fly high sweet Angel

  1. I was looking at the video โ€“ a nice compilation of memories you have of travels and events with your family and your children as well. How wonderful that you had the camera handy to capture so many magic moments Melanie.

    • I cannot tell you how fortunate I feel to have taken so many photographs showing our family growing up.
They are absolutely priceless to me.
So many memories and good times.

      • You sure are right about that Melanie. The camera is one of the greatest inventions ever. I treasure my photographs as well. Over Thanksgiving weekend, I scanned them all in – many images and have to sort them out as there are multiple images on some pages and they have to be separated, then take a screen shot or use the snipping tool to create new pictures – I have 900 images to sort out, but they are there and will last forever and I intend to put a flash drive in the safety deposit box when done. It is nice to have them in that video so you can look at it anytime and not have to dig through scrapbooks and albums. I have a small house and all mine were in the bottom of a closet, not easy to access. Now, a few mouse clicks and I can see them. I scanned in about 100 of my favorite pictures when I got a new printer with a scanner, then I got a scanner made for pictures, and that will be a lengthy process … maybe when I’m retired. It was nice to see a picture of you as well, having only seen the profile pic before. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Thank you.
I really do treasure my photographs…. I think I have fifty-five thousand on my phone (in the cloud), and many, many albums of hard copy photos. One day I will collate them all in chronological order.
I do like sitting and looking through various times and places.

      • That’s incredible 55,000! I put the unfinished pictures onto Shutterfly for safekeeping and also onto a flash drive. I had hoped to collate everything and put them in a final type of form this Winter, but we got busy at work as you know and I had to work on some weekends, and at night, and that almost every day snow shoveling wore me out, not to mention increased blogging activity. Upon until Thanksgiving 2017, I only interacted with a handful of people with regard to my blog, and they were neighbors and friends, and then I started getting a few followers – things really took off and so that occupied my time all Winter … at least I know they are there and I can enjoy them, even if I have to fiddle and tweak them a little first. I, like you, used to travel a lot and that was in the 70s and early 80s. I like to look at those pictures sometimes and it seems like it was a different life, a different me, than now. It seems like a lifetime ago. Even looking at family albums – sometimes I feel like a stranger looking at those pictures. Like a stranger looking at those old pictures. They are cherished, like yours.
