Yes, with time, pains do soften. I am glad to read this is the case with you. But, the pain always is there… hidden in the corners of your heart… emerging when you see something you know he would have loved, or you hear a song he sang, or you pick up the phone to call – and remember he is no longer a phone call away. But, hopefully, the respite by the sea, the quietness of your heart, and the love of memories and happier times will continue to soften the pain – and you can breathe without such a stabbing pain again.
