Leaving on a jet plane

Standard

Saturday 6th May

This week has flown by so quickly having your brother staying with us. It has been wonderful having him around; to go out to dinner, have a drink, shopping, seeing Nan, and just being in the house. And of course, he came to visit you, sweetie, stopping for some quiet reflection with you.

We’ve just taken him to the airport for his flight to Portugal, so now we wait for a message from Faro to say he’s landed safely and is with his girlfriend. Then he’ll spend the day at the beach on Sunday and back to work on Monday.

We do miss you my darling

Precious Angel son

Love you so much

Bye bye

Safe flight

See you soon

The black cat

Standard

Thursday 4th May

The black cat came visiting today

Bounding along and purring loudly

We haven’t seen him for quite some while

All sleek and black, looking at us proudly.

We’re not really people who like cats

But this one always seems to seek us out

And so, I wonder whether it’s a sign

From you; you’re all around and about.

We miss you so much my darling

We’ll never, ever stop loving you

Thinking of you all the time

My precious sweetheart Angel true.

Our black cat visitor

Enjoying the sunshine

Bright and breezy in the harbour

A lovely early evening dinner to round off the day. Mum, brother, niece, sister, husband, me, son

Within our hearts

Although only here for a while

You touched so many with your smile

For thirty years, then that was it

Your bright, burning candle just quit

Unexpectedly, without warning

We swiftly descend into mourning

We know our grief is there forever

Within our hearts, you’ll leave us, never.

My treasured Angel son

You’re now forever young

The brightest star

In the sky tonight

That’s you, my Angel

Shining so bright.

The colourful bloom

In the flower bed

You’d grow the tallest

Sunflower, you said.

The fluffy, white clouds

Blowing in the sky

I know where you are

Right up there, on high.

Missing you like there’s no tomorrow

Loving you with all my heart

Thinking about you always

We’re not really ever apart.

Love you both

Standard

Sunday 30th April

Last night we collected you brother from the local airport: he flew in from Portugal, to stay with us for a week, and to attend a school pal’s wedding. It will be good to have him around for a while.

Wish it was as easy to collect you from heaven, so that you could spend time with all of us; all of us together again.

I wish. I hope. I dream.

And so it is with every breath I take in, with each heartbeat, for as long as I am alive, you will never be forgotten.

My two boys. One on earth. One in heaven.

Love you both, to the moon and back.

Blue skies, but a chilly wind

You’re now in heaven

Remembering times

Of love and laughter

You’re now in heaven

We’ll follow after.

An Angel set free

From those mortal chains

You’re now in heaven

But your soul remains.

You meant so much

To many people

You’re now in heaven

Living the sequel.

Love you forever

Missing you always

Treasured Angel son
