Birthday

Standard

Wednesday 18th January

It’s your second birthday in heaven

So just spread those wings and fly

Wishing you could be with us today

As we blow kisses up to the sky.

My precious Angel, birthday boy

Even though you’re thirty two

We bought for you a Thomas toy

We know you’d like the engine, blue.

Party with the angels up there

Play games, eat cake, blow out candles too

We miss you so much my darling

Not a day goes by that we don’t think of you.

As we remember all the joy you brought

And how your smile would brighten the day

Happy birthday to our sweet Starman

We love you more than words can say.

Dad’s birthday

Standard

Friday 14th October

Today is Dad’s birthday, and I’m sure you would have wished him a Happy Birthday in your own cheeky and mischievous way.

We missed you being here today; celebrating birthdays is really not the same anymore. It’s all a bit low key now. Rather muted and quite sombre. Almost as if you’re not allowed to smile and have fun. I know it shouldn’t be that way, and you certainly wouldn’t want it like that, but it just seems disrespectful, or unnerving somehow, to ‘celebrate’, knowing you’re not here to join in.

Thinking of you always.

Missing you like crazy.

Love you forever.

Beloved Angel son.

Saturday 28th May

I’m becoming old.
A privilege
Not afforded to you.

Today, I’m twice as old
As you were
When you passed away.

I’ll keep on keeping on
You will be
Forever young.

Today it’s my birthday
I’m  2^2(2^4 – 2^0)
Years old.

Love you my Angel
Precious son
Dearest darling one.

Sunday 17th April

Today we celebrated your brother’s twenty ninth birthday.
I accompanied his girlfriend and sister this morning and went to church; the whole service was in Spanish, but it felt like a good thing to do.

We then drove to a karting circuit, where your brother, his girlfriend, her sister and brother spent a great time, racing one another round the tracks.

From lunchtime until early evening, a bbq had been arranged; the weather was beautiful, the food plentiful, the company wonderful. I just wish you had been there in person, my darling.

Missing you every single day.
Love you forever.
Precious Angel son.

Your birthday in heaven

Monday 18th January

Today we celebrate your birthday
But no gifts will be unwrapped by you.
No joyful sounds of excitement,
No special days out like we used to do.

We’re remembering all the good times
Such adventures we had together.
It was just so truly wonderful,
Seeing your face fill up with pleasure.

Parties, bowling, the theatre, swimming
Recalling thirty birthdays filled with fun.
But now that you’re up in heaven,
This will be a very sad and different one.

We’ve bought you some little presents
A Thomas the Tank, Darth Vader too.
Childhood toys that meant so much,
With very special memories of you.

We love you so much my darling
Wish you were here with us today.
It’s the first time you’re in heaven
That you celebrate your birthday.

So we stop for a few moments
Looking up to the clouds and sky.
Just hoping you can see us all
Sending kisses to you on high.

So, it’s happy birthday lovely boy
You’ll always be forever young.
Missing you so very much today
Our dearest Frank, beloved son.

Dad’s birthday

Wednesday 14th October

Another first…….
Dad’s first birthday without you being here.
Without your card, or morning birthday greetings.
Dad missed you a lot today.
It was so quiet without you.

We remember so many good times together.

Dearest Angel son.
We grow older, and you remain forever thirty years old.
Just wish it wasn’t so.

Love you forever.
